How much does delivery cost?

If you order over $85 worth of product your order will be delivered freight free.
Otherwise we have a three tiered cost, depending on your location.

  • Auckland metropolitan area, excluding Waiheke Island   $6.50
  • Nationwide delivery excluding rural delivery   $8.50
  • Rural delivery addresses  $10.50
Does size of order affect delivery cost? Rather than charging delivery costs according to size of your purchase, we use the three flat rates mentioned above.  For larger orders this means we subsidise freight, for smaller ones we don't.  There is no minimum order.
When will my order be sent?

If your order is received before 2pm on a working day, it will be despatched that afternoon.
Orders placed between 1pm Friday and 2pm Monday will be sent Monday afternoon.

How long does delivery take?

This depends on where you want your order sent.
If you live in Auckland metropolitan area, you should expect next working day delivery.
If you live elsewhere in the North Island, allow one or two working days.
If you live in the South Island, allow two to five working days.
If you are a rural address allow up to five working days

Who does the delivery? Sadly we don't drive around NZ in a little Tea Total van, delivering tea to our customers. We wish!
We currently use either Toll Parcels and Courier Post  (or their agents) or NZ Post, depending on whether you are in a metropolitan or rural area, north or south.  Both options are track and traceable.
Am I rural? Most people know if their address is rural delivery or not.  As a guideline, any address that includes RD is rural.  If you do not select rural delivery at time of checkout there will be a charge incurred when you collect the item, apparently NZ Post won't deliver without payment.
Can I avoid rural charges? Easily, have someone in a non-rural area receive your shipment on your behalf
Do you send to post office boxes? Yes, the delivery costs are either Auckland metro or Nationwide, depending on where you're located.  Delivery to post office boxes will result in a delay as we don't have a post office nearby so your order won't necessarily be dispatched immediately.  If you can provide a physical address it would be easier.
What if something is out of stock? If by chance you have ordered something that is out of stock, we will contact you immediately and let you know availability, if you'd like to select something else or to have your money refunded to the credit card used for purchase.
What is your returns policy? If we have made a mistake with your order, we will send out a replacement along with a post bag for return of the incorrect product.  If you decide, for whatever reason, you don't wish to keep the item ordered, we will refund the returned product upon receipt.  The return will be at your expense.
